Drinks

The bar at Scotia is modeled on what you might expect to find in any Scottish village. The atmosphere is cosy with two open fires in the bar, plus a wee snug at the back.

Bar Menu

When Jazz and Mary Jane returned from a recent trip to Scotland, they were full of ideas for extending their bar menu and Chef Andy Aitken has risen to the challenge.  Jazz says, "We are providing our bar patrons with more choice, more tastes and greater convenience.  Not everyone has the time to indulge in our traditional dining experience - now they can choose from two menus."

"Our Stovies" are a great addition to the bar menu, something we enjoyed in Scotland and which we knew immediately would really go down a treat here.  We've also added great favourites including fish cakes, hotch potch and salmon salad.  There's tasty food to be enjoyed whether you're in a hurry or have time to linger."

Wines

Predominantly New Zealand wines with an emphasis on the locally produced Central Otago wines. Pinot Noirs from Central, Sauvignon Blancs from Marlborough and Reds from Hawkes Bay among others. A smattering of carefully chosen Aussie Reds round off the list.

Beer

Dunedin has the good fortune of producing some of New Zealand’s finest beer with Emersons (Pilsner and Bookbinder) available on tap and, of course, no serious beer selection would be complete without our Celtic cousins “Guinness”.  A select few bottled beers including Belhaven from Scotland.

Whisky

Our selection of whiskies is simply outstanding.  With over 300 to choose from, there is something for everyone, even those that think they don’t like whisky!
